This is my version of a /now page: the things I would tell a friend I had not seen in a year.
Business
I recently bought my fifth SaaS-like business, UniHop, and I am spending a lot of my working energy understanding, documenting, improving, and scaling it. It is a last-mile delivery and dispatch platform with a human-monitoring layer, which means the work is both technical and operational.
I also own HelpSite, a simple knowledge base product I bought in January 2025. It had not been meaningfully updated in years, so I have been building a team, modernizing the product, and looking for the right ways to bring AI into it without losing the simplicity that makes it useful.
I am still consulting selectively with entrepreneurs who want help buying, scaling, or exiting small software businesses. I am taking that slowly and intentionally.
Writing
I am writing again. During my family's nomadic travel years, I blogged at PearceOnEarth.com. Now I am using this site as the home for essays on business, inner work, AI, consciousness, and anything else interests me. So far, this is just once or twice a month, when something comes up that I want to synthesize and share.
This Website
I reecntly rebuilt site with Claude Code, Next.js, and static MDX files (enhanced .md / text files). That feels wildly different from the websites I used to hand-code in XHTML and CSS, and also different from the WordPress and Webflow sites I have used over the years.
This setup is leaner, cleaner, and faster. I can edit plain content files, push to GitHub, and Netlify publishes the changes almost instantly for free.
AI
I'm still researching and playing with AI as much as I can. AI agents have changed software development, operations, and creative work. It feels like magic compared to how things used to be. I've always looked for ways to make things more efficient, and this ability has skyrocked recently. I'm applying these learnings in every area of my business and life that I can think of, where it makes processes more effective, clearer, and better documentated. This frees up more spaciousness for the human parts of the work.
Life
Family life is changing. Two of my three kids are already adults, one is about to move out for college, and I am enjoying these last months and years with everyone still close. My wife and I are making space for quarterly trips together, steady routines, and a more grounded version of adventure than the full-time travel years.
Music
I'm been learning classical guitar online through the Classical Guitar Shed, and playing the piano, or even singing with crystal bowls when I make time as well. I find it a great way for me to feel and express emotion, meditate, and when paired with technical complexity, it also becomes a great challenge for the brain.
Inner Work
I'm increasingly aware of the illusory, perception-driven nature of reality. While I sense my core essence may be love or awareness itself, day-to-day, I consciously (or unconsciously) choose identities and roles to play, with imperfect authenticity. Life still feels meant to be enjoyed, and my current joy stems increasingly from personal evolution, connection, contribution, and embracing life's natural cycles – including the challenging ones.
